Cerebral Palsy (CP) Therapies on Wheels

At CP Therapy on Wheels, our goal is to reduce the barriers to accessing therapies such as occupational, speech, and physical, by providing regular mobile community outreaches in Ghana. High healthcare costs and fractured services are among the top reasons why children with Cerebral Palsy (CP)  have limited access to existing rehabilitation therapies. We provide a one-stop shop, and free-of-charge therapy and training clinic for families of children with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. This once-a-week training clinic provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, within the same clinic visit. Caregivers also receive training on therapy techniques they can perform at home.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support children with developmental disabilities to thrive by increasing access to rehabilitation therapy services and empowering caregivers

Our Programs

Therapy Services

We offer free premium therapy services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy). We work with highly qualified therapists who have extensive professional experience. From the quality of our facilities to the experience of our therapists, we take great pride in delivering the best service possible to ensure that each child reaches their full potential.

Outreach Programs

We also organize regular outreach programs for families of children with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. Our programs are designed not only to help and encourage them but also to create public awareness. Some of our programs include donations to the families, organizing medical outreaches, and anti-stigma campaigns.

Family training and Support

We believe that caregivers play an important role in their children’s treatment hence we focus on empowering them with the needed knowledge and skill so they can provide the required quality of care. We do this by:

  1. Building their capability to enhance their caregiving role. We teach them basic therapy skills to practise outside therapy sessions. By practicing exercises and activities with their children at home, they can help their children achieve their developmental milestones faster and improve their overall progress.

  2. Providing them with the resources necessary to empower and enable them to participate fully in their children’s treatment plans. We work together with them to tailor treatment plans to the specific needs of their children.

  3. Supporting their social–emotional needs by providing them with services such as counselling.

testimonies

I started attending the rehabilitation clinic three months ago. Before starting the clinic, my daughter could not roll over but now she can. Also, she could not feed properly. The therapists at the centre have taught me how to properly feed her. We are so grateful for all your support. I can see a change in my child
I like the way they treat my child with patience
The first day I came, everyone was very nice to me. I was guided on how to do the therapies at home. I have seen an improvement in my child and I’m really happy
I used to worry a lot about how to pay for physiotherapy because I couldn’t afford it but the free physiotherapy sessions have put my mind to rest
