To inform national and stakeholder planning toward school reopening and continuous learning initiatives for young children, the Center for Learning for Childhood Development-Ghana is organizing a virtual, stakeholder workshop in collaboration with UNICEF-Ghana, The Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection, National Council for Private Early Childhood Growth and Development (NC.PECGD). The workshop’s specific aims are to discuss how to:

  1. Prevent the spread of COVID-19 within early childhood schools and care programs

  2. Provide ECD services effectively in the new COVID-19 era

  3. Support parents to manage continuous learning and prepare their children for school reopening

  4. Provide ECD care providers with the requisite support/training to understand and work with the COVID-19 related safety protocols

  5. Establish research, monitoring, and evaluation to uncover and sustain effective policies and strategies

The expected outcome is a policy brief to inform national and sub-national planning and implementation on COVID-19 prevention, continuous learning strategies, and effective delivery of early childhood care and program services in the COVID-19 era.
